Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai: Episode Analysis

The Episode starts with, the family get together at the Dining Table…Viren offers toast to Badi Maa, who coldly refuses it, but she takes a slice once Viren puts the plate down, this terribly upsets Viren…..Badi Maa motions Kadambari to pass the bowl of butter, but Maanvi intervenes and passes the bowl to Viren, indicating that he should pass it to Badi Maa…A visibly irked Swamini, gets up, and orders the butler that her Coffee be sent up to her room, following this, Dadaji, Viren and Jeevika, too leave in the exact order, with reasons slightly differing from one another……When Jeevika informs her MIL that she has chores to complete in the Kitchen, Maanvi offers to help, which Jeevika refuses leaving Maanvi Sad.

Jeevika tries to placate Viren when, Viren drops the Bomb of Dadu’s orders….Jeevika is shocked and hurt, but she gulps away her feelings and smiles and says that she agrees with Dadu’s decision, that Mannu has been there for a long time now, Viren leaves and Jeevika wonders how she is gonna break the news to Mannu…….The entire Seq shows that Jeevika may be angry or upset with Mannu, but thats her right, its her sister and she has every right to do it, but the moment somebody else points fingers, she will not be able to bear it, she may even retot, here in this scenario, she is bound by the duties of a DIL.

Maanvi once again tries to help make things Better, by sending her beloved Jeeju, to Swamini’s aid when she overhears Swamini asks the driver to take the car out as she needs to go out…Mannu urges Jeeju to tell Badi Maa that he will take her out, as the driver is not there, Badi Maa rejects this peace offering saying there is no haste and that she is having a head ache, and needs to Rest……Viren is sad, and so is Maanvi that none her ideas are working,….She seeks help from Virat who yields after much pleading……Virat suggests that Viren be sent to Badi Maan’s room with water and Tablets for head ache……The 2 things that is highlighted in this entire sequence is that Maanvi is not one who gives up easily…..she would never miss any opportunity that comes her way and would never stop trying….The second is that she would go to any lengths to see her loved ones happy, her Jjeeju is sad, and  this has pulled down the spirits of her Jeeji, Maanvi knows that she does have a part in this entire happenings, and she would do everything in her power to mend i, for the sake of her dear ones.

Viren enters Badi Maa’s room with Water and Pills, She speaks rudely to him, and asks him to leave the Pills and water on the table and leave….Viren is once again disheartened, he does as she says and leaves…..Virat and Maanvi realize that this isn’t something that would resolve speedily…..Looks like Mannu is real Desperate….She calls up Daboo, I really thought she considered Daboo, a Good For nothing, but when she was seeking help from all why not from Daboo…. Daboo advices to write a Letter to Badi Maa as from Viren, Maanvi does accordingly and s about to leave the letter near a picture frame with Vren and Swamini’s Pic in it, when she hears foot steps of Swamini approaching her room….

Looks like Mannu is done for this time……Well there are certain places where one wishes she would show the needed maturity, but on the other hand you dont feel like pointing fingers at her, because the only person she ever had was her Jeeji, and she has always been this way with Jeevika……Though she knows she can mend her ways, that trait of her does not come out rather often…….Lets just hope that everything goes well, and Maanvi becomes successful in what she planned…
