Television’s Most Popular and Common Name: Karan

Today television is filled with lots of Actors who have become heartthrobs of millions of girls out here but one common factor among most of these actors is that they all share the same name. We are talking about the most common name in tellyworld today “Karan” a name which is on every girl’s lips since all the Karans in TV World have one common factor and that is huge fanbase among girls of all age groups.

While teenage girls are madly in love with heartthrobs like Karan Singh Grover, Karan Wahi, Karan Tacker and Karan Kundra, every married woman and every mother will love to have a husband and son respectively like Naitik of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai played by Karan Mehra or Karan of Yaha Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli played by Karan.V.Grover. Most of the Karans on television have got huge success and fame not only in India but all across the globe. Whether it’s the social networking sites or an award ceremony, every Karan has made their presense felt by winning majority of the polls conducted everywhere .

Karan Singh Grover got his first stardom as Dr.Armaan in Dill Mill Gayye where he not only won the hearts of several girls all across the world but has also gone on to become the biggest heartthrob ever in the TV World and till today fans are waiting for their Dr.Armaan to return with his new innings .His personal life saw lots of ups and downs which was even scrutinized in the media, but that did not stop his fans from loving him. He was earlier seen in shows like Kasauti Zindagi ki as well but Dill Mill Gayye gave his career a huge boost and made him one of the biggest stars of television. He then went on to participate in Jhalak Dikhlaja and even hosted Zara Nachke Dikha. Recently he was seen doing a very interesting cameo in Channel V’s show Dil Dosti Dance but his fans are still waiting for his new show as lead on Television. Currently he is busy with a Punjabi movie project.

Karan Wahi tasted success quite early in his career with his first ever youth show Remix where he played the angry young lover Ranveer and became an instant hit with the girls. Then he did few other shows like Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari but the show which further boosted his career and stardom was Star One’s popular show Dill Mill Gayye where he essayed the role of Dr.Siddhanth in its second season. He became an instant hit with the young crowd which included not only girls but even the guys and young kids started adoring Dr.Sid. Currently he is doing a very interesting cameo in Sony’s show Kuch toh log kahenge but his fans are still waiting for his new innings as lead in a new show .

Karan Kundra got instant fame and popularity with his debut in Imagine’s popular love story Kitani Mohabbat Hai as the angry young man Arjun Punjj. His chemistry with his real life girlfriend Kritika Kamra was hugely appreciated by the viewers and soon Arjun-Arohi became one of the most successful on-screen jodi of the decade. Kitan Mohabbat Hai also saw its season 2 as fans were determined to bring their favourite jodi back on screen again and with huge fan demand, channel was forced to bring the show back once again. Presently Karan is busy doing few Punjabi movies and his fans are eagerly waiting for his comeback on small screen.

Karan Tacker got his first successful break in Star One’s youth show Love Ne Mila Di Jodi where he made his presense felt among the multiple starcast of the show. But his real ladder to success was Star One’s next show Rang Badalti Odhni where he played the role of a rich business tycoon’s son Shantanu Khandelwal who ends up marrying a village girl Khanak played by Yashashri. He won millions of hearts with his portrayal of Shantanu and soon the jodi of Shantanu and Khanak became popular among the viewers. Currently he is playing the male lead in Star Plus’s show Ek Hazaro Mein Meri Behna Hai which is fast climbing up the Trp charts and is in top 10 shows. His fans can consider themselves luckiest for not having to wait for their favourite actor’s comeback for long.

Karan Mehra might be one of the dark horses in this race of “Karans” but today he has become the favourite son of every mother and also every wife will want to have a husband like him. His character of Naitik in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has earned him huge love and respect amongst women of every age group. He is playing the role of a perfect son and husband in the show and even his personal life in real world is equally perfect with his fiancée. The show has been on air for more than two years now but his fans continue to shower love on him even today .

Karan.V.Grover is another dark horse in the race but he is also fast climbing up the ladder of success and popularity with his character of Karan in Zee TV’s hit show Yaha Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli where his sizzling on-screen chemistry with Abha (Suhasi Dhami) has been the talk of the town. Earlier he did few other shows like Saarthi on Star Pus but he got his instant fame and stardom from Zee TV’s Yaha Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli which made him a real heartthrob among millions of girls. His personal life has seen few ups and downs with his break-up with his girlfriend Kavita Kaushik but his career continues to shine with his increasing fanbase every passing day.

Today every Karan on television has managed to get a loyal fanbase for himself making Karans a profitable bet for the producers and channel for casting in their upcoming shows. We wonder whether the name Karan is really lucky for TV World or whether all the Karans of TV have some special magic to win the hearts of the viewers with their dynamic screen presense and cool looks. There are many other Karans who have left their mark. If we were to name all, the list would go on and on but a few ones who need to be mentioned are Karan Goddwani, Karan Patel, Karan Hukku, another Karan Mehra, Karan Arora, Karan Sharma, Karaan Singh, Karan Oberoi, Karan Thakur, Karan Rai and Karanveer Bohra. It wont be wrong to say that Karans do rule the TV World just like how the Khans rule the Bollywood.
