So heres the great news that made me have different feelings at the same time, Indian channel zee zindagi has announced that a 2016 blockbuster Korean drama drama “Descendants of the Sun” is going to be aired on the said channel. This news caused me feelings happy, jealous and angry at the same time, and its not a strange thing if you are a fan of Korean dramas, you are bound to experience this at some point.
Indian views will get to see the undoubtedly one of the most beautiful romance on screen, great chemistry between leads and a really good story, which obviously doesn’t include saas bahu mindboggling crap and family politics. It’s the story of a brilliant soldier Yoo Shi Jin (played by Song Joong Ki) who is commander of the military’s special unit (Alpha Team) that carries out most difficult missions in Korea or abroad and a female doctor Kang Mo-Yeon (played by Song Hye Kyu). Second lead couple with equally amazing hot and sizzling chemistry is sergeant Seo dae Young (played by Jin Goo) who is Cap. Yoo’s best friend and a member of Alpha Team, hes in love with a high ranked military doctor Yoon Myeong Joo (played by Kim Ji won). (loll I know its difficult to remember their names at first but once you get used to they sound pretty normal and cute)
Both female doctors are sent to a war torn country Urk as a part of UN peacekeeping mission. While Alpha team is sent there to protect the UN peacekeeping mission, it’s a punishment for the team because team leader Yoo has habit of breaking rules and going reckless while carrying out missions. Rest of the story is how they carry out their professional duties in a war torn country where they are always in fear of getting attacked from an unknown enemy, on top of that Urk is hit by a massive earthquake. In these difficult circumstances, the tough guys of army and soft hearted doctors come together to help people and save lives. Their love blossoms in these unimaginable and more unlikely situations.
Its definitely going to be a treat for the Indian viewers who are fed up with never ending saas bahu clichés and family politics that drives a reasonable person nuts. I really wish Pakistani channels too start showing Asian, esp Korean dramas as they are definitely worth it.
