Bollywood actresses keeping Karva Chauth observe the fast with all emotion, enthusiasm and passion, praying for the well-being and long life of their husbands
Every Karva Chauth I dress up for my husband Boney Kapoor and observe the fast. I follow all the rituals from doing puja and not drinking a single drop of water throughout the day. I start preparing for the fast several days before the day as it’s for my husband’s long life and well being, and I don’t want to miss out on any aspect. I keep the fast with Anil Kapoor’s wife Sunita and Sanjay Kapoor’s wife Maheep. Being together makes it all the more fun. We all do the puja together in the evening where we follow other rituals like exchanging karvas! We end the fast when the moon comes out when we see our husbands through a sieve. Boney makes me sip water and puts a piece of mithai in my mouth. I follow all the rituals in true Punjabi style and thoroughly enjoy it!
Karva Chauth has great significance for me as it is praying for my husband’s long life. I follow all the rituals diligently every year and Raj (husband Raj Kundra) from his side gives me a wonderful gift. I remember the year he gave me a beautiful diamond ring and that has always stayed in my memory. Raj also spends the entire day with me and takes me out shopping. I feel so pampered and consider myself lucky to have such a loving husband. I always pray that he is always by my side in every birth.
When I was unmarried and saw my married friends keeping the Karva Chauth fast I used to think about the time when I would get married and keep this fast. I was fascinated by their beautiful clothes and the puja that they did on this day. So when I got married to Aditya I kept the first Karva Chauth with full fervor and rituals and dressed up in all finery. Aditya gave me some beautiful jewelry as a gift for my first Karva Chauth which I treasure. I observe Karva Chauth every year keeping all the rituals and did this even when I was pregnant. I prefer the traditional attire and wear a red saree and gold jewelry on this day and pray for my husband’s long life.
I was very excited when I had to keep Karva Chauth in the first year of my marriage to Karan (Karan Singh Grover). Everything was new for me and I was very meticulous about everything, especially the puja. I got very emotional and felt very nice keeping a fast for my husband. Karan was very amused and he had this smile on his lips. He looked so cute and there was a different kind of happiness on his face which I had never seen before. That’s the reason I love keeping this fast and observe it religiously every year.
The best thing about Karva Chauth is that it reminds me of my wedding day when I was dressed in my bridal finery. In fact I dress up in even more elaborately than I did on my wedding to Siddharth (Siddharth Roy Kapur). After dressing up I follow all the rituals and end the fast after praying to the moon and then my husband. The fast deepens our love for each other because seeing me dressed as a bride Siddharth becomes romantic and gives me a gift. I love keeping Karva Chauth so that my husband has a long and good life.
