Can you imagine a bride to be or newlywed bride; all decked up in her bridal ensemble standing behind bars, and not at the mandap or with her husband at her sasural? Kinda hard isn’t it? But that is exactly what the teaser of Colors upcoming show ‘Ishq Mein Marjawan’ produced by Beyond Dreams Entertainment showed us when it was unveiled a few days back.
What if the day that almost every girl hopes…wishes…dreams…expects to be the happiest day of her life turns out be the worst day?
What if ‘love’ that one believes to be a boon ends up being a bane?
Yesterday Colors tweeted the first promo of Ishq Mein Marjawan and what was shown paved way for a zillion questions like stated above. Touted as a romantic thriller the show will see Arjun Bijlani who was last seen in Star Plus show Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil essaying the role of ‘Deep’; while Alisha Panwar who has sported a supporting role in several shows such as Begusarai,Jamai Raja and Thapki Pyar Ki; play the female lead -‘Aarohi’.
Narrator: “Aarohi aur Deep mile iss tarah…par uss raat ke baad uski zindagi hi badal gayi”
Set in the picturesque locales of Manali and Shimla the opening shot of the 42 seconds long promo shows Aarohi and Deep running towards each other on a simple suspension bridge. They clearly look like they are in love. Both are happy to see the other, and all smiles when they hug each other. The next scene shows us a a woman in red taking care of some catering arrangements followed by a close-up shot of a knife which is wielded by a woman in black who most likely is Aarohi. The woman in black is seen approaching the other woman and then we see blood being splattered on a heart-shaped cake. The next shot is that of a scared Aarohi running with a police jeep in tow. We then see a well dressed Deep and Aarohi in her bridal avatar (Just like in the teaser). The promo does not explicitly state whether the duo marries or whether they were about to but, Aarohi is seen in handcuffs; being taken away by the cops as Deep looks on.
While the entire promo hold of your attention without letting the intensity drop at any point, what truly leaves you gaping at the screen is the change in Deep’s demeanor especially the moment Aarohi is taken away. Initially he is seen following her; concern written all over his face. But once she is seated in the police jeep and the vehicle starts moving; we see Deep’s expression changing, he begins straightening his tie and suit jacket with a treacherous expression clouding his face. The man we see in the first frame of the promo is replaced by somebody else. When being taken away we hear Aarohi’s voice saying “Suna tha pyaar mein rab hota hai, kiya toh jaana pyaar mein yeh sab hota hai”
Seeing the above mentioned scenes and hearing Aarohi say these words- it makes you wonder what happened doesn’t it? What makes Aarohi question the age-old saying that ‘Love is God’?
At a glance the inference that can be drawn from the first promo of Ishq Mein Marjawan is that Aarohi was betrayed in love, and by none other than Deep. The change in Deep’s stance demeanor is kinda a dead giveaway that he isn’t what Aarohi believed him to be. After all which lover or groom to be/groom stands there straightening his attire when the woman he seemingly loves, who he was about to marry/married is being taken away by cops? The helpless-concern mask comes off the moment the police jeep speeds away.
So what did Deep do? Was he the brain behind the murder that supposedly happened in the promo? Or even better was someone murdered or was it more of a symbolic shot? If one were to take the promo at face value the woman in black aka the murderess looks like Aarohi. So did she murder someone? Or was it a plan to frame her for murder?
The feel of the promo reminds you of Beyond Dreams previous show Main Naa Bhoolungi (Sony Entertainment Television) starring where the female lead protagonist essayed by Aishwarya was betrayed in love by the supposed male lead protagonist Vikas Manaktala who later was revealed to be a grey shaded character with ulterior motives.
In Ishq Mein Marjawan; Arjun Bijlani plays a grey shaded character and Aarohi a simple girl who gets tangled in a web of lies and deceit which changes her life forever. The promo is attention grabbing. There is no way you can ignore it especially when Aarohi says ‘Pyar ne woh kiya hai mere saath, ki duniya ka bharosa uth jaayega pyar se aaj ke baad’ (If this world comes to know what love did to me; they would stop trusting in love hereafter). It does make you curious as to what is it that makes Aarohi utter such strong words?
You do want to know what happened and what will happen next. What did Deep do? What will Aarohi do to avenge the betrayal ? Only one way to find out. Stay tuned !!!
