Gauri in Dil Bole Oberoi is Completely Different from Aastha – Shrenu Parikh

Havan show lead girl Shrenu Parikh who had taken a two years long sabbatical is back to the grind with new Star Plus show Dil Bole Oberoi. “I play a very rustic, rowdy jhatak girl named Gauri, who brooks no nonsense. Although she is not educated, she more then makes it up with street smartness. But below this hard exterior she is still a softie at heart. ”

Why did you choose this role? “Aastha (Havan character name) was a very powerful yet traditional role so whatever i do next had to be different and better.” She does accept that it will be challenge to enter the spin off of popular show Ishqbaaz. “It is but natural to be a bit nervous for I have to create a space in the hearts of the audience which the existing characters/actors Omkara (Kunal Jai Singh), Shivaay (Nakuul Mehta) and Rudra (Leenesh Mattoo) have already achieved. ”

She also informs us that she will also be seen in Ishqbaaz, but mainly my track will be restricted to Dil Bole Oberoi which is essentially about the love between Omkara and me, other above Oberio characters will only seen be in the back drop.”

Shrenu is enjoying working with Kunal, “He is very helpful making me understand the nuances of the story. Work wise also he is very easy going.”

So what did you during the break? “After acting nonstop for a while, I needed time with my folks who are getting old. I also traveled to the US and got a green card. As for work, I was not totally away, for I did a few commercials.”

In closing she asserts, “I was not afraid of out of sight is out of mind for I took a deliberate break so the audience mis me and now I am back with a bang.”
